To Launch, or Not To Launch
Written by Peer Oliver Schmidt Monday, 07 September 2009 12:27
Since the beginning of 810, we have been plagued with problems launching new devices. Well, Thom Cherryhomes got to it, and we have now a launch manager again, that does load new devices. We still have the screen'ed version of the launch manager that Jon Decker originally wrote, but it now works with new devices.
Other than that, we have again a few fixes for the MythTV storage groups.
As always, enjoy, and open up trac tickets, in case something stupid happens. Also, if you did open a trac ticket, and haven't looked at the problem lately, please verify that your ticket is still valid. Please make a note on ALL of the tickets that you have opened up, whether or not they still are valid tickets.
Thank you.
Best regards

Tying loose ends

The new alpha, again, contains lots of fixes and updates. Especially noteworthy are the fixes for MythTV storage groups, and a BIG thing, that might break existing installs, UTF-8 format for all MySQL tables.
- pluto-system-database has fixes for some devices and contains instructions to convert all tables to UTF-8
- pluto-orbiter contains fixes for the Gyration 3101 remotes.
- pluto-storagedevices, pluto-mythtv-plugin and player contain fixes for MythTV storage groups
- pluto-boot-scripts contain fixe, and additions like printer support for Samba
- pluto-website-admin contains a new DHCP leases page (thanks to merkur2k), and the UPnP server link points to the MediaTomb admin page.
- pluto-orbiterinstaller contains REAL Windows executables again, and no longer the 0 byte fakes, at least for the Windows orbiters
Please test everything. If things fail, open up a trac ticket.
Best regards
